Mid-air course correction plus additional vertical and horizontal movement is a very powerful ability to have in a game where quick and precise platforming is rewarded. It's even secretly a triple jump -- grappling a platform or wall with your whip will reset your mid-air jump, allowing you to jump > jump > whip grapple > jump again!
As far as I can tell from reviews and community commentary, these range from "2EZ4ME" to ragequittingly hard which for me at least is the sweet spot of a daily mode.

Unlock new whips with success and choose from your collection before venturing into your next run. Each whips carries a minor blessing but also a curse that may complicate your attempt at riches and glory.
Using the whip, you can open treasure chests from far away and latch on to further away platforms to fling yourself towards them. This helps get to spots that are either higher up or further away than a normal jump can get to.
Since it is quite easy to hit 60 FPS in the game, I elected to just go to a Medium preset and keep 60 FPS. The fluidity feels amazing in-game, and bringing the preset down just a little keeps the battery drain around Phantom Abyss Speedrun 12W - 15W in general.
There are some areas that do bring the battery to 20W, but it will normally stick around 15W - 17W. Now, we could set the preset on Medium and get a better battery life, but I found it to be a little shimmery for my taste.
